Cook's tip

If the sauce gets too thick, loosen it with a spoonful or two of water. Have leftover meat and broth from beef noodle soup? Start at step 4 and it is ready in 15 minutes. For heat, drizzle with chili oil before serving.

Cooking it at camp

Braise the beef and sauce at home and carry them in a sealed tub in the cool box. At the campsite, reheat the beef in a pot on the burner or over charcoal, wilting the bok choy on top, fry the eggs in a cast-iron pan and pile everything onto freshly cooked or reheated rice.
