Cook's tip

The haleem keeps 3 days in the fridge or a month in the freezer, so it is great for meal-prep bowls. Bulgur can replace the oats. For anyone who should avoid soft yolks (pregnant women, young children), boil the eggs for 9 minutes.

Cooking it at camp

Make the haleem at home and simply reheat it at the campsite. Use ready-cooked rice pouches, make the chilli ghee on the burner in a minute, and bring the kachumber vegetables pre-cut in the cooler.
