Cazuela Chicken Pot Pie with Puff-Pastry Lid
Cazuela's chicken, potato, pumpkin, corn and green beans in a cumin-scented creamy sauce under a crisp puff-pastry lid: a café-style pot pie.

Cook's tip
Pastry puffs best when it is cold; if it goes soft while you work, chill it for 10 minutes. Got leftover cazuela? Reduce the broth, thicken it with butter and flour, chop the meat and vegetables and use it as the filling.
Cooking it at camp
Cook the filling in a lidded cast-iron Dutch oven, lay the pastry on top, then put a few coals underneath and plenty on the lid to bake it like an oven. Keep the pastry cold in the cooler. No oven setup? Eat the filling as a stew with crackers or tortilla chips.
