Cook's tip

A halved baguette works instead of sandwich bread. For heat, add chilli oil or chopped red chilli to the broth. The pork filling can be made ahead and keeps 2 days in the fridge.

Cooking it at camp

Make the pork filling at home and keep it in the cooler (below 5 °C); at camp just assemble the sandwiches and toast them in a cast-iron pan or a camping sandwich toaster. Make the broth quickly with a stock cube dissolved in boiling water.
